This collaborative project unites a diverse team of developers, each bringing their unique expertise in community-focused investment, development, and management across various property sectors to create a vibrant mixed-use space in Baltimore.

Blank Slate is a Baltimore-based minority-owned real estate firm that provides construction, development, and management services. Our team specializes in the revitalization of vacant historic properties. Our software-based approach ensures our clients achieve their goals and eliminates the stressful obstacles throughout the life of a project.

Founded in 2007, MCB Real Estate is a community-centric, privately held investment management firm based in Baltimore, Maryland. MCB has $3 billion in assets under management and a portfolio of approximately 15 million square-feet of industrial, office, retail, mixed-use, multi-family and life sciences properties, with nearly four million square-feet in development. The firm provides integrated commercial real estate services, including development, construction, property management, asset management, acquisitions, and legal support.

Atapco Properties, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary and the real estate arm of American Trading and Production Corporation. Atapco develops retail, industrial, residential, office and mixed-use properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

MLR Partners is a privately held, Baltimore-based commercial real estate investment and management firm founded in 2011 that acquires, develops, manages, and invests in assets in the retail, mixed-use, office and industrial sectors.

Neighborhood and Project History

This historic neighborhood has a legacy of pioneering achievement from producing Parren J. Mitchell, Maryland’s first Black Congressman and founder of the Minority Business Enterprise Legal Defense and Education Fund, to Dr. Lillie May Carroll Jackson, teacher, real estate investor, and decades-long leader of Baltimore’s NAACP.

Neighbors in this area have a long history of community engagement, working with (and leading) organizations. After collaboration with the local community, The Development Team is proud to be introducing rental workforce housing, grocery, market-rate homeownership, and job training to the neighborhood to catalyze investment in the area.
